Price guide for a rust free S2/turbo front wing

Have just found a good used front NS wing offered for sale near me. It looks good in the pictures and I've been in contact with the seller who says it is rust free. He wants £150 for it. Fair price??

Unless it's in bare metal there is no way to tell if its rust free or not. Check Rob's post to see a rust free rear quarter.

Fair price, but the stoneguard hides the rot until you strip it off. See the other "944 wings" thread! [&:]

Thanks for the advice chaps.

Unfortunately i won't have the luxury of being able to strip it back before deciding whether or not to buy it.

I'm going to see it tonight and will have to use best judgement based on what i have seen on the rust scale on the panels on my car.

Cheap if it's rust free as it won't need any work, if it needs work then just the same any other wing which does

The oem wings will have a flat base and to mounts to fix the sill trim to this is what's rotten on most

So i bought the wing and I'm pretty happy with it. Turns out the guy selling it used to work for Porsche Gothenburg OPC and has a 30,000 mile S2 cab which he has owned since new. He took the wing off his 1992 car in 1995 and has stored it ever since. It has a few dings and dents from 19 years of rattling round in his garage but in terms of rust, it is as good as I could have possibly expected.

I got it for £130 so pretty happy with that.
The best bit it is that he told me he had several other NOS panels stashed away which he is prepared to sell. I've already put my name against a NS sill panel and he's going to send me a list of what he's got. I might be tempted to buy the job lot!

If he has anymore wings available I would be happy to buy 2 in that condition!! good buy at that price!!

Looks like you've found a good wing and an honest seller. That's rare. If he has more panels as good as that one buy them all and put them in your loft. That wing just needs a tidy up and a paint very rare these days.

The wing was his only used panel, the rest he told me are new old stock, presumably from his days working at OPC. He said he definitely had both sills and a rear panel (between the lights) and he was trying to describe in Swinglish, something which sounded like it might be a whole rear quarter panel. Now that i have made his acquaintance, i will keep in touch and see what i can turn up. I will see if i can get a look at his treasure trove and ascertain precisely what lies within.

I'f there another o/s front wheel arch, i'd love one. May even need another for the n/s. Can you let me know if he/you are willing to sell if they are in as good condition as the one you bought?

If by "front wheel arch" you mean the front wing, the guy only had one NS item and that is the one I bought. I need it for my project so I'm sorry but it's not for sale. I asked him if he had an OS front wing because I need one of those too but he didn't have one.
