Any of you guys used a company called Pristine Alloy Wheels based in Milton Keynes to have your wheels refurbished. They have been recommended to me, but unfortunately i have not seen their finished work.
Having spoken to them over the phone, they sound like they do a real top job and will colour match using porsche colour coded paint.
Would be interested to know your thoughts. Cheers.

Assume you mean at Woburn Sands just south of MK.

Had some Cup 2 wheels done by them last year (note these are not split rims so if you have split rims my recommendation doesn't count). Did a fantastic job. Would recommend them without hesitation.

Ian.

I agree - had some done a few years ago - I think they are the best, had many folks say that even those who dabble with wheel refurb. They also do mags etc etc.

Yes - I heartilly agree!! I had all 4 done on my car almost as soon as I got it 3 years ago and they are still as good as new. Also had several BMW wheels done there too. Rumour has it that Aston Martin use them too.

Regards

Dave

Yes i do mean Pristine at Woburn Sands. Thanks for your comments Ian, Alexander and Dave. In that case thats where i'll be sending my mine. I'll pass on some feed back when i've had them done, in the next couple of weeks all being well.
Regards
Paul

Me too!

Had my Cup 1 mags + centre caps painted black by them. Took the car there, left it for a week, picked it up job done.

Update Folks,
Yesterday i took my wheels to a local agent for transfer to Pristine. However they stayed in the back of my car !!!
The agent gave me all sorts of cr*p about its only best to put brand new tyres on refurbished wheels, as taking the tyres on and off, it is possible that the coating on the edge of the rim can lift !, plus they couldn't guarantee that the rim wouldn't scuff or chip, because the tyres are tight when replacing or removing !!!! They advised to wear out the current tyres, then have the wheels refurbished and then have new tyres fitted as these won't have to come off for a long time !!! What if you puncture i asked ???? .... the finish is only guaranteed for 6 months. As you would expect on this occasion i didn't leave my wheels.
I had also placed the enquiry to the Milton Keynes Region who hadn't had a good experince with Pristine. Unsure what to do at the minute?
Best regards
Paul

The quality of the work I had done at Pristine was top notch. Wheels done 12 months ago and wheels still in perfect condition.

I think your problem is with the agent not with the actual refurb work Pristine do. I didn't do it through an agent. Had the tires removed by my trusted tire man, delivered the wheels directly to Pristine and then picked them back up and had tires put back on by trusted tire man. They are near enough to me to do that. If their agents are letting them down then shame on them as that's the experience most people will see.

Regarding damage to edges during tire fitting it doesn't matter who has refurbed the rims, if you have a bad tire man he will ruin them. That's why I always use the same chap I trust.

Ian.

Cheers Ian, Was going to give Pristine a call Monday anyway just to see what they said. Not sure whether the agent wasn't as confident with his guys or whether it was because he wasn't going to make much on this job without fitting new tyres. Either way i won't be using him. Obviously, one or two people may have had a bad expeience, like with most things..... but i haven't ruled Pristine out just yet! Watch this space. Thanks again for replying, appreciate your advice.

An odd one for sure - the agent would seems somewhat lacking....although when I had my wheels done I did turn up with old rubber and told them to take the tyres off, ditch the rubber and re-do the wheels. I left them there. One week later I picked up 4 boxes - took them to a tyre outfit who added new rubber, and they still look great after 4 years or so. Pls update us - interesting one this!

Spoke to Ben at Pristine today. Very disapointed to hear my concerns and more so with the agent. He totally understood why i hadn't left the wheels. He explained that the agents are there to make things easier not difficult, so that they can concentrate on the main job 'Refurbishment' ! It was good to get some feedback. Understanding my situation he offered to take the wheels and tyres complete and remove, refurb', replace and balance themselves. Just hope their paying the postage!
