Hello all you folks at Region 10,
Any of you guys used a company called Pristine Alloy Wheels based in your area Milton Keynes to have your wheels refurbished or know of anyone that has? They have been recommended to me, but unfortunately i have not seen their finished work.
Having spoken to them over the phone, they sound like they do a real top job and will colour match using porsche colour coded paint.
Would be interested to know your thoughts. Cheers.

I've used them, and yes, they do a good job, but very expensive indeed.

I now use wicked wheels (Blakelands MK) and find them just as good, but certainly cheaper.

Get a quote from both before you go ahead.

I have used them on several ocassions but the last time they did not get full coverage on the wheels and blew some of the magnesium lettering off. Not sure how they did this as you cannot use machine tool on Mags. they have offered to paint the wheel again but cannot replace the lettering of course.
BTW they do work for Aston Martin.

Thanks for the advice guy's.
I had spoken to a local agent for Pristine who ship them on their behalf. When i took the wheels down to them, they gave me all sorts of cr*p about its only best to put brand new tyres on refurbished wheels, as taking the tyres on and off refurbished rims, it is possible that the coating of the edge of the rim can lift !, plus they couldn't guarantee that the rim wouldn't scuff or chip, because the tyres are tight !!!! They advised to wear out the current tyres, then have the wheels refurbished and then have new tyres fitted as these won't have to come off for a long time !!! What if you puncture i asked ???? .... the finish is only guaranteed fro 6 months. You'll be glad to know i didn't leave my wheels.
From what you say as well i don't think Pristine are as good as they make out. I'll give Blakelands a call. Thanks again for your help.
Best regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
Just to add that the company I work for send Pristine a lot of wheels to refurb. At first many of the wheels were sent back to them as they were not up to standard. I have to say that they now do a first class job.
regards

Hi there. I had my wheels stripped, blasted, re-painted and then fine diamond turned for £75 each and they look as good now as when they left them.

Very happy (and frankly, I'm a touch fussy)
