Problems starting the engine

I'm concerned that the engine in my MY05 Carrera S is taking longer and longer to start.

Sometimes the engine turns over for nearly 2 seconds before starting

I drive the car to and from work Monday to Friday (4 miles each way with lights and heater on) and occassionally at the weekend.

Unfortunately the car hasn't had a decent run (50 miles or more) since November...

Is this just the battery, or could it be more serious?

My 05 C2S with 43k miles on also now not bursting into life with characteristic roar. My daily commute is 15miles each way at a 40mph crawl. Independant specialist I use assures me that only fault is a distinct lack of a real good blast to unclog its lungs. About 100 miles should do it.

Hubertus,

Did they recommend that you don't drop below 55mph in the same style as they did in the film "Speed"?
