problem is there is no heat!... I have tried to find the heater valve but with no luck. I did find a small vacume operated valve next to the wiper motor which operates a flap via a link arm but thats all . What is this for the fresh air supply?

Hi :)

Ok..I have just rebuilt my climate control system lol

Sooo...Its probably one of the 2 sensors...one internal, one external...

Quick fix while you work out whats wrong....the external sensor is INSIDE the air pipe that runs from the bottom of the alternator forward to the front inner wing...

So do this...
JACK up the front passenger side wheel...
crawl under front and find that pipe (around 3 inches diameter)
follow it forward and look for the wires coming out of it...
they connect to a small connector...

DISCONNECT THAT CONNECTOR !

now try and see if you have heat...when that connector is disconnected the heater defaults to ALWAYS HOT (with slider in ANY position)

If that works ,,come back and I will give next installment :)

All the best Brett :)

there is a valve in the hot water system just under the air filter that controls hot water into the heater. It is supposed to fail in the open position = always hot.
You might have been lucky and had it fail in the closed position.

Assume you checked that you had plenty of coolant in the water system?
