Problems with sticky knobs on CR/CDR 220 CDR23

If like me, the rubber on the main control knobs of your Becker unit has perished to the point where they feel all sticky and horrible, you might want to replace them. I did some research, In the UK you can get them for £18.50 each via Porsche spares at your main dealer, the part number is 996-645-901-00.

Alternatively, pelican parts have them for $20 each + shipping. If you go for the cheapest option (worked out at $15 to ship to the UK for me) then the price is comparable to getting them from the main dealer.....although, more and more I'm experiencing increased import costs these days, so whether you have to pay anything additional on top of that, not sure.

If you stick them in a cup of hot water with a decent squidge of washing up liquid in there and leave it overnight then you can rub off the sticky soft touch coating with your fingers in the morning.

The white lines remain on and the knobs look (and feel) a damn sight better - you’ll probably not be bothered about changing them then either.

Agree, just pull them off and spray them with kitchen degreaser and leave for about an hour and then wash with hot soapy water and it removes the tacky layer.

The tackiness is a common problem as the finish deteriorates with age and goes tacky and is removable with degreaser / hot soapy water.

Did this to mine 3 years ago and they still look and feel really good.
