procedure for changing plug tube

Is there any specific grease I need to put around the seals? I am assuming that you don't put them in dry...

Thanks,

Steve

The workshop manual says use "tyre mounting paste", and the parts lists says use Grease 000.043.205.10 @£20/tube. Most people use a regular silicone grease.

Thanks, I couldn't find it, but then it was late.

The O-ring and tube looks spot on, there was no paste or grease on the o-ring that was leaking, and I could pull it out just by pressing my finger on the inside with a rubber glove for grip. I wonder if when someone replaced it last time they forgot to apply the grease.

Just one thing, won't the silicone grease dry out / burn off? I normally use high pressure lithium grease for this sort of thing.

Cheers,

Ok cool, thanks again :)

I also spoke to the tech in the meantime at Dick Lovett, they do indeed use silicone or any suitable lubricant to make sure it doesn't get damaged when placing in and to provide a more air-tight seal.
