Hi Paul and all 924 fans!
I have been asked to pass on some details of a 924 that has become available in Aberdeenshire.
It's a Guards Red Lux, no sunroof, 1983 on a Y plate and the odometer shows 89650 miles.
It is owned by an enthusiast and former club member but for reasons beyond his control it has been somewhat neglected (Read as parked outside) for several years. I'm assured it was driven to it's current resting place.
The following description is based on a 15 minute look over, and I didn't try to start it because I didn't have time to fiddle around trying to turn it by hand first and didn't have my jump leads with me, so...
Good stuff: The carpets are dry (no sunroof). The front wings seem to be sound. The engine bay seems to have everything in place. The interior is complete and in fair shape (Black pinstripe). There's a huge history file, the folder with the manual and service book is inside. The owners are under no illusions as to it's value, they are more interested in seeing it go to someone who will restore it.
Bad stuff: There is rust in both sills and I think there's also some in the drivers side A post (around the lower door hinge). The paint is oxidised (of course). The OSR tyre is flat.
Generally I believe it's saveable based on my limited inspection, but will need some money spent. It would probably suit someone with either their own bodyworking skills or a friendly welder-wielder.
I have a few pictures which you can see here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w2upiyiism0bvtt/vnc8RnnfDs
If seriously interested, could you please respond in this thread where I'll try and answer any further questions anyone may have.
