Project S2 update...

Not a great deal to report due to the crappy weather recently. Intended wheel refurb has been delayed till the weather gets better.

I have, however, fitted some clear indicator lenses & side repeaters which I think really freshen up the car a treat. I tend to do this on most of my cars as IMO it makes them look a bit more modern. Both were from ebay. The indicators (which are E marked) fitted beautifully & even came with orange bulbs & new screws & plastic washers. The side repeaters, (which were admitedly, the cheapest ones on ebay), were a bit of a pig & needed a little modifying to fit. I'm really pleased with the result & a total cost of only about £30.

I've also managed to source an OSF wing with minimal rust, ready for the big trip to the bodyshop in May - £110. Just debating whether to get a NS one as well, rather than repairing the existing one!

Cheers,
Robbo

Hi Robbo,

Where did u get the wing from - please advice? I am trying to get one (o/s) too in Apline White and wonder what sort of money should I pay for if I ever found a good one.

Just wonder how much (if you don't mind) does the bodyshop charge to fit the wing and does it require repainting?

I eventually got one from a specialist breaker. I spent about a month phoning various places, S2 wings seem to be like the proverbial rocking horse doo-doo!

I was bidding on one a few weeks back which eventually went for £180! New ones are £400+!

I'm afraid it's just a case of phoning round the breakers on a regular basis, or hope that one comes up on ebay.

Sorry Charles, not much help.

Re. the bodyshop cost - I'm having quite a bit of work done on all four wings (all need some degree of rust repair at the bottoms), repaint & replace the OSF one, some rust repair & paint on the lower edge of the drivers door & probably getting the front bumper repainted too! so not cheap!

Cheers,
Robbo
