For yourself ?, wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to just buy a straight one for around £4k.

Depends how much a project is!!
I have seen, what looks like a nice S2 from a distance for sale in a garage on the Hull to Patrington road, Its been for sale for ages. Think it started near the 5k mark about 6 months ago and last time past just before christmas it was up for £2200. Can find more details if needed.

i have a 1989 944 S2 with tan leather sports interior that i brought with MOT failure sills in Black. I have cut sills away and waiting quote from bodyshop. If you want to make me an offer it will save me time and money and make room for another car coming soon. send email and i will forward pictures.

Hi,

It's for a TV show, so they want something that's in need of work, but work that's within the scope of the competent DIYer. IE a bit of rust or light accident damage, tatty interior, some mechanical work but not engine out - that sort of thing.

Sounds interesting, can you tell us any more ?.

How about this 944 (S2) Cabriolet? http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/830451.htm

The advert reads: "Accident damaged. Needs new door, screen, wing, sill. Not recorded. It runs & drives still and started up after its 2 year sleep no problem!"

Not my car, by the way!

That looks a bit more than the "usual" ,, edd china stuff...
If the screen is broken. then ide suspect the door pillar has moved a bit....

Which Edd China programme is this? Only one I have seen is the one with Mike Brewer and I only remember a 924 in that.

Maybe a job for the UK "wrecks to riches" show where they put accident damaged cars back on the road- they use pulling jigs etc.

That's the same programme, one is the dealer, one the mechanic.

Elliot, I think cills is to involved for them - it's got to be within the ability of the home mechanic within reason. A new wing or something would be fine, along with stuff like exhaust, a bit of paint, tidying up the interior, you know the kind of thing.

I'd like to get involved with this by helping find a car, so keep 'em peeled! [:)]

Paul I know of a white S2 for sale in Atherton, near Leigh in Lancashire that has been sat on a driveway for sale for almost a year now. The guy did want £3k for it but I'm sure Mr Brewer could knock him down considerably...!

It looks unloved more than anything else, although I can't vouch for the mechanicals.

I read somewhere that some of these cars for sale, that don't look too badly damaged have already had a pull on a jig to make them look better than they really are .

Seen this turbo on ebay for £1500. Needs a new clutch.
