Promax chip

Hello! Has anyone here tried the Promax tuning chip in a 944 N/A, especially in 944 S? Any comments about it, is it worth the money?

I see from your website that you claim an extra 20BHP and 21 lbft of torque. However, it would be nice to see some comparative power curves in order to get a better idea of overall performance improvements.

I was looking for the MAF kit on your site, but couldn't see it anywhere. What's the cost?

Well worth the money, mines an automatic lux 2.5, which is much smoother than any other, and also keeps delivering power at greater speeds. Clearly my car was the slowest 944 model when it was built, and will never be in the "fast" league, howevere the chip significantly improves power delivery. Once you have it you will want other mod bits to try as well. Happy shopping!![:D]

Has anyone got experience of fitting the chip to an 89 2.7 lux, and if so what difference did it make?

I went shopping today. Bought some milk, eggs, ham, loaf of bread and some flowers for the missis. I do hope she likes them.

This forum would be a very dull place without you Oli. :)

Oscar Wilde said he could live for two weeks on a compliment. This thread will keep me going for most of a month.
Thank you, Gentlemen.

Oli.

I went for it on the strength of the positive reports on here about it.If only more people on here had a sense of humour like yours Oli, this forum would be a much happier place.

Funnily enough, I think this forum is a fairly happy place despite my sense of humour ....

Anyway, enough of this tosh; have you fitted that chip yet?

Oli.

Mot passed with flying colours on friday morning. The tester commented on how good the underside of the car is. He couldn't believe the car has been to france twice since it was done.Always nice to have someone compliment your work.
Chip fitted this afternoon. Easy to do , just followed the instructions no problems. First impressions are that the car seems to run smoother. It feels much more responsive through the revs and possibly a bit quicker as well. But over all just nicer to drive. It's going to get a few miles tomorrow, so I'll report more then.

Found the same when I changed the chip in my 968 cab - and found it already had a Superchip and daughter board fitted! The Promax smoothed out the power delivery so the kick of the variocam is less noticable but low end comes in better. The other nice thing is that it does not mess with the bottom end so does not mess up emissions for the MoT.
