The FAQ at the top of this forum tells you what wheels, size and offset should be on your car (a 220 Turbo from your description). Tire sizes as below from a Porsche approved tire list (944 section) from several years ago. You can try to find a current one on the Porsche home page but finding N spec tires in these sizes is quite difficult nowadays...a couple of years ago the Bridgestone S02 were still available. You can of course choose whatever tires you like. I'm wearing out a set of Bridgestone RE050-A Pole Position on my S2 which I find to have excellent grip but they are drummy and thumpy on bumps and irregularities which I would not expect with an N spec tire.

The tyre options have very mucvh improved recently
Porsche 944 Tyre Fitment
• (1982-1986) 944 2.5 = 185/70VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 N & 215/60VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 N or 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N
• (1984-1989) 195/65R15 was also an option.
• (1987-1988) 944 2.5 = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N (15” option 195/65R15 or 215/60R15)
• (1987-1988) 944 S = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N (15” option 195/65R15 or 215/60R15)
• (1989) 944 2.7 = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N (15” option 195/65R15 or 215/60R15)
• (1989-1990) 944 S2 = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N4
• (1989-1990) 944 S2 Cabriolet = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N
• (1990-1991) 944 S2 = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 245/45YR16 Pirelli P7 N
• (1990-1991) 944 S2 Cabriolet = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 P7 or 245/45YR16 Pirelli P7 N
• (1985-1988) 944 Turbo = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 225/50YR16 Pirelli P7 N
• (1986-1991) 944 Turbo = 205/55YR16 Pirelli P7 N & 245/45YR16 Pirelli P7
these P7 that we are now selling are N homologated by Porsche themselves and they will handle better on your car than more modern tyres.

I seem to recall the 88 Capri 280 Brooklands came on 15" P7's. I put a set of Brooklands wheels/tyres on my 83 Capri 2.8 injection turbo. I find it hard to believe though, that a 30+ year old tyre design can't be bettered today.

I suspect the tread pattern is to make the car look correct in photos but the compound will have changed.
