Hi Guys,

I went down to Birmingham on saturday to pick up my black 944 S2 and drove it back to Scotland with the biggest smile on my face on saturday night. Its badly in need of a good clean and polish now though but it was nice and tight on the way home and since. I can't get the pic to upload onto this post ill figure it out when I have the car sparkling again and put up some more pictures.

For now you can see her

Cheers

She is an absolute beauty! Black with black, makes me jealous. I've always thought black is the best looking colour on the 944 but there aren't two WUF's in the world so I ended up with a red one as my keeper.

Really really chuffed for you. Have fun, don't get too carried away until your used to her (nearly all the mishaps I've seen over the years have been in the first few weeks of owning their 944) and keep us posted with a review of how your getting on[:)]

Yep, span mine within 2 weeks of ownership (Went straight to tyre place and put new boots on the rears!)
Looks a lovely example and obviously caused a good reaction amongst your mates!

Welcome to the fold - they are cracking cars, hope you enjoy the ownership experience as much as the rest of us.

Thanks guys.

I will be taking it easy as the roads are either icey or full of holes just now. I think i'll go and buy my anorak now haha.

Cheers

Belter, Black on Black with Cup 1 alloys also....perfecto mundo, get those sills and front wing bottoms filled with rustproofing fluid to preserve it though........ENJOY !

Hi Gordon, you got a good deal there from Helen despite the jobs required, enjoy.

How did you get on with insurance?

Will you been going on this Sunday's run?

Cheers Alan.

I got the insurance for £660 or there abouts. Not to bad for me considering age etc.

There is quite a bit of squeaks and the occasional rattle coming from what I think is the door seals. Other than WD-40 is there any recommended fix for this?

after a good clean

Looks great ! And dont believe anyone who says that Red ones are the fastest - some of us know otherwise [:D]

Race ya[:D][:D]

Red ones that have been "Cannelled" don't count ! [:D]

Mind you once my one has its new turbo bolted on plus a remap....

There are some deadly looking tuning projects out there at the moment, PSH has been quiet recently.. too quiet [;)]. It's lovely to see the 944 turbo still getting attention.

I think these 'rust' years, now the cars are all of that age are going to be quite revealing, and once they are over the cars that are left should be pretty special. I just hope the availability of parts doesn't die off with them!

rust is only a problem if you can't weld. My s2 is getting new floor, inner and outer sills ,rear arches, a bit on the windskeen suround and a new spare wheel well. Once done it will be like new, ready for another 22 years on the road.In another couple of years I don't think there will be many 944's about that have not had atleast sills. The only question in the future will be has the welding been done properly or just faked up.

By the way silver is the fastest colour.
