Just been shown how easy it is to disconnect the plug that ensures the increased exhaust sound is muted at town speeds.
Simple in a 911, more difficult in a Cayman or Boxster as the engine cover has to be removed.
Here you see the plug connected.
The plug will need a gentle push forwards and at the same time a silver clip in the plug
will need pushing to the left and then pull the plug off whilst keeping the silver clip pushed in.
It will be a little tight and sometimes it is easier to use two hands.
Once the plug is disconnected, the PSE dashboard switch becomes inoperative
Having disconnected the mute facility and also ensuring that the PSE is always operative, the plug can easily be
reconnected for long motorway journies where peace and quite is required.
