Occassionally (but more often than not) on idle/under mild acceleration.

Turned out to be a thin gauge aluminium heat shield just a little bit close to the top/leading edge of the off-side cat.

A quick push out the way towards the front of the car and all is fine.

Ha! I was just going to say to check that!
I had similar issue after I changed my spark plugs etc... Turned out I had pushed the heat shield in slightly, so when the exhaust moved it would rub against it. Mine was like a squeaking noise.
