Help! Ruptured my front quad playing football, so after surgery can't drive for 3 months... 2003 986S has stood for 3 weeks and g/f took me for a drive to the shops today to give it a run. OK on way there (30mins)....

On way back first stereo (CDR23) wouldn't work, then a few random jabs at CD button brought it back on line.

Then (just as my girlfriend caught a stall just before the engine died) the "PSM Failure: Drive To Workshop" warning showed. Then shortly after the ABS Failure warning went off. Then my g/f had a nervous breakdown ;o) then the Airbag failure light came on.

Then the stereo lights dimmed in time with the ABS/PSM dash warning lights. Then noticed that when if I pressed the electric window button the PSM light came on...

...if I didn't know better I'd think there was an electrical fault there somewhere. But where and what? Does it need a nice long drive to warm it up and dry it out? Thoughts?

Recovering from a nasty injury and can't drive either....poor you!

Words of advice....Don't let g/f break your car in future and best get it checked at your OPC.....probably is nothing that can't be resolved , their diagnostic reports will tell all

Get better soon...x

Check the battery voltage both with engine off and running. Sounds like either battery is goosed or alternator. Engine running you should see 14 to 14.5v across battery terminals. Engine off over 12v. If you charge the battery for a few hours, check volts, leave off charge for an hour and then check again. Any voltage below 11v won't start the car and you need a new battery.
