Just had a fault where car started to labor in traffic then warnings came up PSM failure , all wheel drive restricted, adaptive driviNg permitted and also engine fault, driving permitted.
Had to limp home.
any experiences or ideas of what could cause this?
obviously ill not drive until I can get her booked in for a diagnoasis however anyone any ideas what this could be and how severe?
only done 28000 miles and was recently serviced.
thanks Craig

Had similar issues on the motorway some years ago and on contacting OPC was told it was a known issue related to a sticky contact behind the brake pedal. Fixed quickly at no cost, so suggest talking to OPC.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]I had the PSM Failure recently. I usually drive with the top down, and in the winter also have the heater on 25 degrees to keep my hands warm. I accidentally also selected the footwell button and after about 40 miles I got the PSM warning.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]It switched off the Sport Mode and came up with error messages, so as instructed I drove home carefully. When I selected Reverse to drive into my parking space the Start/Stop failed as well.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]A bit of internet research told me that it's the Brake Pedal Bushes sticking (due to the heat in my case), which puts the brakes on slightly and gives you power loss, hence the PSM switches itself off.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]One solution, which worked for me, is to leave it overnight, then BEFORE you put the ignition key in, wiggle the brake pedal back and forth and sideways, and even pull it back a little. This frees the sticking Bushes. So now when you insert the key, all should be back to normal.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Apparently this is an issue with Boxters/Caymans as well sometimes.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]If that doesn't work then a gentle drive to your Porsche Centre may be required!![FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Hope that helps[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

The solution is to have the bush replaced, do not continue with this issue as you will find the pads and discs will overheat and the cost to fix can get expensive (ask me how I know). It takes about 1.5 hours to replace the 0.50p (roughly) bush.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Thanks for that Ralph...[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]It's going in soon to Tewkesbury PC to have a new condenser fitted to the aircon (picked up on a recent health check), so I'll get them to do the bushes as well.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Better safe than sorry, as they say.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
