PSM Failure

Got in the car tonight and have a PSM failure light on the dash!! According to the book its gotta go to the OPC to be fixed, hope it doesn't mean the car is dangerous? Also need to get them to look at a non working sports chrono.

I'm guessing it will be a book it in and leave it with us job?

Called OPC first thing this morning and dropped the car off on the way into work and they booked me a cab to the office. Hopefully all will be well with the PSM when I collect it later and they are also looking into a couple of other small issues for me at the same time.

Just an update for those who get this error on their onboard computer and don't know what it means. On my car, it was the steering angle sensor that went. Great that it went under warranty as it's approx. £350 incl vat to repair. Hopes this helps someone out.

I missed your first message - apologies.

Thanks for coming back to say what the diagnosis was - I've not heard of this before, but I guess it (or something in the system) was bound to fail at some time.
I supose the system defaults to some kind of "safe mode" should PSM fail...

Thanks Mark, but the boxster s is only 10 months old. [] It doesn't seem to default to any setting as there is wheelspin if i want to. Anyway, i dropped it in Friday morning to get repaired and collected it Friday evening. Drove 8 miles and all ok. Then started it on Sunday, drove 5 miles and the b****y light is on again. How disappointing. I wouldn't mind it, but i drove 5.5 hours to get it diagnosed last Saturday and then another 5.5 hours on Friday to drop it in to get repaired ( i live a bit away from the dealer!!). Does this PSM FAILURE qualify as a problem that i can get the car collected and dropped to and returned from the dealer under Porsche assistance? I had been impressed with the OPC previously hence i went back to them with this problem, only to be let down.
