When I stop to fill up my 997.1 turbo with fuel or turn off the car and restart it in a short time the psm warning light comes on, however when the car hasn’t been started for some time this doesn’t happen. Has anyone experienced this ?

Hi,

Maybe it’s battery voltage related? If you keep the car on a battery conditioner when not in use it should be charged fully when you start it up after a lengthy period, but use of the starter motor will deplete the battery maybe sufficient to cause issues - especially if it’s an old battery - since these modern cars are very sensitive to battery condition.

Other than that I can only suggest running some Porsche-specific diagnostics [PIWIS or equivalent] to find out if any error codes have been flagged.

Just my tuppence worth of course.😉

Hi Jeff, many thanks for the reply. The battery is fairly new and I always use my check when not in use. I will take on board your thoughts. 👍

If you have a PCGB member local to you with a diagnostic tool (iCarsoft for example) you can see the error codes and diagnose that way.
