I have been asked what you would run on an early SWB Chassis for road and rallying. Has anyone got experience? This has been asked by a contact in Holland. I think this is a weight saving exercise.......comments please...

PU BUSHING or UNIBALL Rear Suspension?

You are limited on the choice of PU on a SWB car as the inner spring plate bushes are smaller on the SWB. The outers and the banana arm bushes are common to LWB cars so there are PU bushes available. I have supplied Superpro PUs to lots of guys with early 911s on DDK. I am just building a 2.8 RSR rep with uniball bushes on the front struts and rear spring plates, along with solid engine mounts. It will be a few weeks before the car is on the road and I can comment on the NVH. Francis Tuthill is the expert on rally set up for the early cars, give them a call. http://www.francistuthill.co.uk/
