Pub Lunch in August?

Anyone fancy a drive and pub lunch on either 16th or 23rd August? Suggested venues are Chapters in Stokesley near Middlesbrough or the Crab & Lobster at Asenby near Thirsk. Chapters is more reasonably priced with 3 course lunch for £16.50 whereas the Crab & Lobster main courses are between £15 and £20. If numbers are sufficient we will try to organise a suitable route and Sunday lunch booking.

Please post here with preferred date (and venue, if you like) if you are interested. We won't be around for the next week or so but will pick up for the next monthly meeting on August 5th.

Thanks

Ian and Sharon

Sounds like a brilliant idea so count us in! Would prefer the 23rd and don't mind where.

There will be three of us for the 23rd and a possibility that I could make the 16th on my own.

Either date would be ok for us at the moment. The Crab & L is vey popular and gets very busy. Don't know the other one. The Blue Lion at East Witton has supposedly 'gone off'', perhaps the Chef was away, when my spy visited. I'd suggest the General Tarelton at Ferrensby, which is exellent quality, but a short drive across the road for us! An option could be the old 'sister' of the Tarleton, if the others are busy; the Angel at Hetton, between Skipton and Grassington.

Anywhere and anytime for us. We visited Chapters a few weeks ago and I did think myself that it would be a good venue for the Porsche club. Some lovely roads and scenery in the area also.

Angel at Hetton gets my vote however parking is a tad problematic.

Not sure if we will be able to get there as we may be away ( holiday plans not yet finalised at this time ). If we can then we will so not giving any preference.

Jane and I would love to go but unfortunately fly to Turkey on 16th for 2 weeks
Crab & Lobster is an excellent venue, we stayed there a few years ago and the place is a veritable dream

Hi Ian

Either date OK. Crab & Lobster is a longer drive for us so preffered. The sister place of the Angel at Hetton in Ferensby also never tried. We will go with the majority decision!!

Just been to Trenchers, Whitby to see that the standard has not dropped and collected a brochure of their other restaurant, the Crab and Lobster at Asenby - looks a wonderful venue.

Has any decision been made on date or restaurant?

Lunch will be at Chapters restaurant in Stokesley www.chaptershotel.co.uk on Sunday 23rd. I have e-mailed all who have expressed an interest in joining us. If anyone else would like to come please let me know before Friday 14th latest so that I can give final numbers and menu choices to the restaurant.

Thanks.

Has a route been decided yet?

Would like to join up instead of meeting at Stokesley.
