Puddle underneath car????

Has anyone any ideas? was driving over to a friends house yesterday and drove for about 30 minutes motorway driving, stopped at some shops and when I came out noticed a puddle in-line with the left hand exhaust pipe but a few inches back, it was clear/green in colour.

When touched it felt like a very watered down washing liquid, which I'm guessing might be anti freeze and water mixed??

Checked the oil and water all seemed ok so drove on for about another 15 minutes to get to where i was going as there was not a lot I could do in a carpark all seemed fine.

Parked up and left the car for awhile and came back only to find a few drips on the floor this time, on having a look under the car it seems like it must be coming from above the middle manifold cause there was signs of this being wet.

The air-con was not on at all yesterday has anyone any clues? car seemed absolutely fine to drive.

Check your coolant level - sounds like a split hose or tank.
 
John's right - classic case of split header tank. Did you know that Porsche are on their 6th design revision for this component.

Thanks for everyone's response, is it the tank that goes or the pipe work leading to/from it?

And anyone know what sort of cost it is to replace?
 
9 times out of 10 it's the tank, and in a place where you can't see it (around the back). Usually a pin hole or crack, and they only leak when hot. I believe they are about £150 plus fitting, but I am sure someone can tell you exactly - I'm sure it will be fresh in someone's memory.........
 
Just out of interest; how many miles has the car done; is it a 3.4 or 3.6; do you keep it in a garage; which is your favourite in the God Father trillogy?

36,000 miles 3.4 C4 not garaged (and I must be the only bloke in the whole world not to have seen the God Father although will get round to seeing it one day!!)
