what is the generla opinion on punture repairs and are they safe to do? My local PC does not do them as Porsche do not approve them?
I bought 4 new tyres last week from my local PC and have got a nail in one within 2 weeks of buying them, talk about bad luck!
Has anyone else tried tyre seal? I had it on a previous none Porsche car and it was fine, but not sure how it would effect the set up on a 911?

Every few years someone launches a product like this. At best it's a "get you home" remedy; I wouldn't trust it on a high performance car personally.

ATS have vulcanised a number of tyres for me over the years & they have always been fine, even pure track tyres such as Toyo R888.

If the puncture is too close to the shoulder they won't do it but I'd expect that from an honest operator.

See here - shows you the permitted repair area

One repair on "V" rated tyres allowed. I have had it done with no problems in the past.

STS repaired one of my rears after a nail went in it & has been fine

they would only recommend 1 repair in any tyre though as long as its in permitted area

I have pirelli pzero rosso tyres z rated. I have been informed that up to three repairs can be done on any single tyre.
I recently went to a well recognised tyre repair place who wanted £20 to repair my puncture. Then after having for two hours told me they couldn't repair it as the tyre had been driven on when flat. I informed them that it had travelled 10 metres when flat. The distance it took from its parked position to the garage door.
Went to an independent garage and got it repaired for £5. Asked if the tyre was ok to be repaired, to which there response was ' it is fine'.
I have always had punctures repaired as they have never been a problem. However, as stated earlier, they can only be repaired if in the repair zone.

As I don't track my cars I have repaired 3 puntures at various times on my Porsches with no issues as it was done properly with the tyre removed and fixed from inside out. Cost £5 each time including balancing.
