Hi,

I have a blue dash top...but would prefer a black dash top.
( the 'knee' bits under the dash are already black.
( have found a black interior, inc seats and door cards - so will just be left with a blue carpet )

I've seen a couple of dash tops sell on eBay recently, and so wondered how easy it is to remove the exisitng one, and fit a replacement?

Does any one have any suggestions / pointers on doing this.

Thanks,

car is a Carbio, 1995 in case that makes a difference.

Tim,

I replaced the dash top on my 964 some time ago and I recall it was pretty easy. There is a screw under the end caps, four (IIRC) across the top holding the heater vent and the killer is the nut behind the clock. You'll have to pop out the clock to get to it. Once all the screws and nuts are off it just lifts off.

You can see from the new one where the awkward nut is. The centre heater vent will usually come away with the dash top and it's probably better to make sure the new one is in place before you attempt to put the new dash top in place.

Regards

Dave
