Q. how to remove a dash top?

Hi,
anyone know how straightforward it is to remove the dashtop ( from a Cabrio in case that makes any difference )

- blue interior is slowly changing to black[:)].

from memory....

Remove the 2 plastic end covers so you can see the end retaining screws... On early models without the plastic end covers, you need to access the studs from inside the luggage compartment.

Remove the metal air vent strip from the base of the windscreen.

Remove the center vents in the dash... when looking inside the vents you should see a couple of metal tags (think they are at the top) these can be moved downwards to release the top of the vents from the dash, allowing it to be removed.

Now the center vents have been removed you should be able to access the fixing to the dash top... Can't remember if there is one or two fixings... but basically you should see an 8/10mm nut. There are also a couple of studs/nuts holding the dash front.. again these can be access through the vent hole..
