Hi,
looking at changing the lovely blue four spoke steering wheel,

can anyone let me know what steering wheels from other model Porsches will fit: 996, 964, Boxster, 968, 944 . etc.??

I think I've read posts saying the 996 and boxster s'wheel fit the same hub,
but wondered about getting a non air bag wheel,
maybe a Momo Course or Clubsport wheel[:)]

( If I go for the momo - does anyone just happen to know if the 993 hub same as a VW Golf Mk2 - as I happen to have a spare one in the garage! ) I'll try a Momo stockist for an answer )

Thanks

As far as I know, it's illegal to fit a non-airbag wheel if your car has an airbag. Apart from anything else, why lose this valuable safety feature?

I have just fitted the following wheel (in black) to my 1994 993 with no problems at all (it's the OEM first one for £475.00 + VAT):

I also saw it in my local OPC in other colours. You will need to disconnect the battery for 30 mins before hand. Also, you'll need a 24mm socket (slightly unusual size I believe) and a 2" long (or longer) Torx 30 bit which is long enough to unscrew the two airbag securing screws on the back of the steering wheel. Make sure the wheels are dead ahead and mark the column shaft as well, or you'll have to do it all again because your wheel will be slightly squint!

Try this link also which I found useful:

By the way, looks fantastic!

15/16 AF will also do and the torx can be removed with either a 3 or a 4mm hex bar. As for disconnecting the battery, leave it an hour and make sure the interior lights are off. By then the "electronic brain" (?) will have gone into sleep mode and it will be ok to pull the red trigger switch off the back of the air bag. Try not to wear nylon underpants though ..... static!
