Q. sticking speedo

Recently the speedo needle sometimes sticks ( at the lowest point ) ie it is just resting there at the bottom of the dial,

gentle 'engineer's tap' [;)] and it springs up and starts working.

Any easy cures for this?
or just a sign of old age - car is a 1994/C4 Cabrio 120k.

Mine does the same. Not too bothered about it, if I get stopped for speeding by a friendly rozzer it might work as an excuse!

Mine does exactly the same. I quite enjoy tapping it as it makes me feel like WW2 Spitfire pilot.
