Hi,

looking at the Technical Bulletin link, 'Installing Distance spacers on rear axel

it showed Cup Design '93 ( or what I called Cup 2s )
It only listed an 8j x 17 H2 wheel ( i.e. it didn't mention other rim widths etc. )
and think it's only referring to reh REAR axle

but with three different offsets:

52mm
70mm
and
30mm ( 911C4S, Turbo )

In a thoroughly selfish 'I'm all right jack frame of mind', can anyone let me know what offset I should have on a 1995 c4 Cabrio. - as thinking of geting some new 17" wheels.

Thanks

Hi

Early cars had a different offset at the rear.

Mine are ET70 - not sure when the change would have occurred to ET55

Cheers

Hi Maurice, Pete ( 120k and counting... )

I followed the link ref. the technical bulletins...( MoC2s post here )
to the Rennlist website, http://forums.rennlist.com/
then in the Rennlist 993 section...
then amongst the tech bulletins it had the one I mentioned -'Installing Distance spacers on rear axel'

agree - seemed odd they only listed 8" as the rear rim width,
then perhaps if they were only 8j,
that was why people wanted to fit spacer rings??[;)]

The 964 fitment on Cup1 was 8J ET70 on the rears and I think the very very early Cup 2s were also made in this size. I have seen early 993s with these Cup 2s fitted (these wheels were also fitted to the 928 I think).

The 9J ET 55 rears are a much better fittment for 993. As Cup 2s wheels are very easy to get hold of I would always fit the 9J rears what ever year 993 it is.

Regarding spacers, on both the 8J rears and 9J rears you can fit spacers to bring the wheels out to the arches more.

Ian.
