They do look nice don't they. Colin (Ninemeister) discussed this development in great detail on 968.net and Pistonheads a few years ago but I think he has now shelved (or postponed) the idea as the development cost was far outreaching the gains [:(]

Edited to add the last update on his website was May 2003

Kojeln has something like this running on their 944 turbo race car...

Yes I had a look at the thread on 968.net and it seems it was shelved as the supercharger kit was giving better power gains compared to the price that the throttle bodies were going to cost. Some rumours on rennlist of 400bhp on a supercharger equipped 968.... also fits 944S/S2 according to the ninemeister website.

Cheers

Dave

Blimey! 9M had gone pretty quiet about the supercharger on the forums I read so I totally missed his 420bhp development.

I'm sure Mrs Diver would like one of them when we refresh her S2 engine :ROFLMAO:

Looks like the cost alone of making those beautifuly sculptured bodies would have been pretty prohibitive. The arrangement on the turbo engine is interesting, he seems to have some neatly curved manifolds which then lead into conventional throttle bodies (assuming you can pick up the manifolds for sensible cash you could use bike throttle bodies from a scrap yard, just need to a little research on the correct size). The only and fairly big down side with this, is what to do with the brake servo/master cylinder, you could go with a race car style pedal box and remote servo, expensive but at least it would get rid of that bar which in our rhd cars stretches all the way across the car.

It would make a cool project but if anyone takes up the challenge they are pretty much going it alone, unlike other engines that have been tuned in this way, there is not much in the way of help or guidance available for this series of engine.
