Query - seat motor repair

I have a problem with a 993 seat, rear motor that's come apart.

I have a pair of front sports seats I bought to put in the car, been stored awaiting the right moment to fit them.
so seat isn't in the car.

But... on having a re-arrange in the garage today I found that on one of the seats, the back motor on one side has come apart - or at least it's base plate has come loose - so the inner workings, the splined spindle and the ball-bearing ring.

Can't see easily how to reassamble - there's a threaded bar that works in conjunction with the splines that 'fell-out' - can't see if I can just screw in the spline inner bit by hand ( aologies - suspect my non-tech jargon will only make sense to someone who has built / taken one of these apart )

The seats are 'standard' ( not sports in case that makes any difference ) and they are labelled with a 993 part No..

If the 'sensible / cost effetcive solution is just get a salvaged motor from a dismantlers - any hints on getting the old motor and casing out, and likewise getting the new one in?

( current seats are fine - so don't want to pinch motor from them as plan to sell them when I take them out ).

Just a suggestion before you post the pics - turn the good spare seat over, take its motor baseplate off and compare against that ?

 
what is the part nos. I have some spare ones here if needed , cost of postage only , better to be used than sat about !

I too have seat motor issues. My 993 C2 with full electric seats was all working well the other week. Suddenly the recline button will work going back but will not go forward. Has anyone else experienced this problem? my initial thought is electrical, wire disconnected, as motor is working fine in the opposite direction.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
 
In reply to Option911 - the switches on the Porsche seats seem to go wrong fairly regularly and they usually fail in one direction or the other. It's possible to take them out and clean the contacts (be very careful you don't lose the small springs from the inside) and this will sometimes cure it. You might even get away with spraying contact cleaner in there, although I haven't tried that approach myself. Disconnect everything first, of course!

Failing that, you may need to replace the switch. They're not too expensive, but in their infinite wisdom Porsche didn't connect them up with a plug - instead the cable runs from the back of the switch, around the seat base (secured with cable ties) and is soldered at the switch, so it's a real pain and requires removing the seat. You could use just the switch from a donor car and solder it in, if you have enough slack in the cable.
