question re roof....

when you unclip the catch at the front are you supposed to close the clip when you open the roof or leave it open? i have been closing it but if you're not quick enough the hook smacks the frame.

If you mean the final roof closing handle/clamp then it stays open whilst retracting, in the down position and when closing. Only closed when the roof is to be secured in the up position

as previous poster , i've never closed one up after started to open roof 's on cars i've worked on always left them open

When I bought my car from West London, they demonstrated the roof opening and closing and left the handle open. The other reason I think it should be left as is when it's unclipped, is when you operate the roof on the move, it would probably not be safe trying to return it to the locked position while still driving while the roof is running in auto mode between the set speed limits .................

that was really my problem - stopping it clonking the frame before i grab and open the handle. the reason why i close it is because the wind break plastic thing looked like it would foul the roof closing......i'm guessing i'm wrong then! thanks for the replies once again
