Questions, questions, questions!

So, tonight rather than being at The Ace, my battery is on charge[:(] When taking out the battery and spare wheel and tools and, and, and .......I finally got everything out and its left a few questions.

1. Hole in the floor! In the middle towards the front of the wheel well there is a 10mm diameter hole. Is this for drainage? Should it have a grommet in? I am concerned that water could be getting in there.

2. There is a clear plastic tube coming from the lh inner wing just above the battery. It seems to lead nowhere. Where should it lead to and what is its purpose? Is it a breather for an old style battery?

3. In the souround that the battery sits on there is a threaded hole that doesn't seem to be used. It is at the front left and takes the same thread as the battery clamp bolt. Anybody know what that is for?

4. Any ideas on either a bigger battery or one the same size and more powerful? I guess there doesn't seem to be any room for something bigger.

Many thanks for any help.

I have a 60Ah Porsche battery from a GT3 Mk2 fitted to mine and it started first turn after 4 weeks unused. It had a 75Ah Bosch in it when I got it but I used that in my GT3 as the std one was knackered.

Holes in the floor are for "nipples" (see previous posts)

Tubr is supposed to be connected to the battery so that it can breath (not all batteries have this facility)

And threaded hole is for a secondary battery clamp. (not sure if they use two) depends on the battery shape.

Geat joy!! I don't need a bigger battery but I needed a new one. However, the new one came with a breather so my tube is now in use!!

However, not so good news. I have now found I am almost totally nippleless!! I have 2 missing. The question is, where do you get replacements?

Thanks for the answers. I never realised that when I bought an RS I would be entering a whole new world. Badgers, nipples! I wonder what will be next (or maybe I wish I hadn't asked [:D])

I have nipples!! A very nice man at the OPC removed £4.62 from my wallet and gave me 3 beautiful LARGE nipples for insertion in my boot floor!! I have to admit, if I saw a pair of rasberries that big on a lady, I would be a bit concerned [:D]

Now all I need to do is find hole No.3. I have found 2 but the third seems a bit ellusive.

Shame they had to stretch the pic of viagra blue, or does your bum always look big in that? [:D]

Simon -as Vic says, you'll have to trim your nipples so you don't knock them off......[]

I wouldn't be so pleased about your breather tube....

Make sure of its routing to atmosphere as it is venting a very nasty acidic gas that will attack your pride and joy.[:-]

Thanks guys. I can imagine that catching your nipple could be very painful and that shorter ones are the way to go. However, I believe that I should be like Scaramanga and have 3 nipples but, to date, I can only find holes for 2, bith near the front. Any hint as to where I should place the third one [;)]

Simon, best way to find all the holes is to look from underneath as one of them is obscured from the top view. From memory one of them may be under the control unit bolted to the left side of the boot when viewed from the front.

Hey Mo is dat u in the passenger seat ? By the way who is the midget driving?

For those who were concerned at my lack of nipples, you will all be pleased to know I now have 3 lovely new ones, fitted and trimmed. And yes, the third id under the control unit and can only be seen from below.
