Did the fuchs alloys also come in 16" all round??

I am looking at one today which looks to have 16" on the back and 15" on the front.?

Cheers Db

I'm not an expert here but from my limited knowledge I believe this to be VERY incorrect, what is the year of manufacture for the car?

Early cars had a std fitment of 15" with 16" being a factory upgrade option, the important point being that the car should be shed with either 15" or 16" ALL the way round and not a mix of both.

Later models had 16" as std al the way round, the upgrade options now being variations in the the width.

Hope this helps

Good luck from me too....bear in mind if you need to replace fuch alloys, they are harder to find and command a high price...to refurb a set by Jasmine..is around £750. By mean of a set..please read same size circumfrence[:)]

I have a pair of Fuchs 6*16 with new Contisports on them. Let me know if you are interested.

Before selling my '88 3.2 I swapped the fronts for 7s and I had already got 8s on the back. In my opinion, despite retaining the same size tyres, the 7s fill the wheel arches out nicely. It may have just been due to the new tyres having initial stiffer side walls but the turn in felt superb as well.

Still, if anyone is interested, I have the 6s with new tyres. I kept them as spares but they don't fit my 964 (especially with the RUF Brembos [:)]). If no one is interested I might put them on Ebay, or possibly buy another two to put on my '78 Beetle Cabrio.

15s on the front and 16s on the rear? Its odd but nothing inherently bad about it. A good friend of mine ran an IROC replica race car for years on 15x8 fronts and 16x9 rears. It was an incredible car, very light with a 360hp motec controlled MFI 3.5 litre engine. Maybe someone just couldn't find the correct diameter wheels when they needed a replacement for this car.

I would think swaping a pair of 15x6/7s for 16x6/7s would not cost a lot of money. The last 16x7s I bought were £300 for the pair. I recently sold a pair of excellent original condition 16x6s for £150.

I found a picture of this horny car with 16 inch fronts and 17 inch rears. Looks fine to me.

My friend Boydy swears by 16 rears 15 fronts , so this thread proves there is always a difference of opinion.
I rekon as long as the rolling radii are not too far off this should be ok
Why Boydy prefers the 15s at the front -- dunno but i will ask him on tues.
