Quick question .....wheels

There were no 17" 944 Turbo wheels. That said any of the ones retro-fitted to a post '87 944 (any model) should fit straight on. Then again they will be the same as you CS wheels.

Which is what I want for trackdays.

I've been offered some non Porsche 17s off an '86 944 turbo with 235s on the fronts and 255s on the rear, just wondered if they'd do the job.
 
No. The '86 car has a different hub (no ABS) so the offset is different. Unless it has spacers to make later wheels fit. In any case the replicas are quite a bit heavier than originals.
 
I think upto 87 the offset was different. 87on the offset changed for hubs that could take ABS so no probably not,
