Quiet here recently

Since it's been a bit quiet for new posts this week I thought I'd bore you with what I did to the car at the weekend......

....I finally get round to fitting a couple of new door seals. Boy my fingers are now numb from getting them to fit snuggly []

Hopefully it will stop the wind noise I was getting above 130 leptons [:D][:D][:D]

Steve,
My drivers door seal could do with being replaced. Can i ask where did you purchase your new ones from? Are they OPC items only or are there cheaper versions around & can you give me an idea of the price involved?

cheers
Simon

I actually picked up a pair of new ones that Porshapart put on ebay and got them for half the price that Porsche lists them for (about £50 each from Porsche).

You can get OEM ones from Forest Fine. I believe our leader, Dave, got his from them a few years ago. Again these are about half the price:

Am i looking correctly for my bonnet seal..is this a good buy?

As Steve said, I bought mine from Forestfine and they fitted with no problems. At the time I did go through a lot of forum posts on the subject of glueing the seals in place and eventually decided not to bother. Both the door seals and the bonnet seal hold in place without any glue and it made the whole job a lot easier.

The new door seals made a HUGE difference to the wind noise issue I had with the old damaged seals.

Regards

Dave

The Porsche part no for the seal that goes all around the bonnet is 964 504 123 01. The list price of this is £48.72 + VAT. So the one in your link is a little bit cheaper but by the time you get 10% PCGB discount and go and collect it (saving the P+P) there won't be anything in it.

Plus in my experience the OE stuff from the OPC fits much, much better and is easier to fit into the bargain.

Still got some Forestfine door scrapers from my 944 that were ridiculously difficult to fit - gave up and bought some from OPC (£4 cheaper each too [8|]) which fitted like a dream.

Lesson learnt for me...
