Got my renewal through from Lancaster for £156 and on the reccommendations of others gave RH a call. Broadly similar terms and conditions plus the benefit of free breakdown assistance and the quote was . . . .


£118.65!

Signed up, and whilst my credit card was still in my hand I filled in another form and my status of "guest of the club" will be changing to "PCGB member" shortly I should hope!
 
I have been intrigued by this RH for some time, thinking is it too good to be true and is it even real insurance. Maybe I'm just more suspicious than most folk but I have found a few scams in my time so I thought I'd check who they are.

It appears that they are part of Equity Red Star. This might not mean a lot to some folk but im in my mid forties and when I was but a teenager we used to get horrendous quoted for insurance ( by 80's standerds) on our Ford Capri's.

Guess who was doing cheepo insurance for teenagers by the bucketload even then , you guessed it Equity Red Star. So it seems they are still going all those years later but maybe have diversified like a lot of companies. Maybe the boy racers loss is the classic car drivers gain [:D] as clearly they are still cheap
