R10 Monthly MEETING and " Pub-cours" - Puloxhill June 8th Sunday

Hi to everyone in Region 10 and beyond.

Please find yourself invited to the Region 10 " Pub-cours" and monthly meeting from 1pm onwards on Sunday June the 8th at the Cross Keys pub in Puloxhill Bedfordshire.

This meeting replaces the scheduled meeting @ the Navigation.

The general idea is that the Porsche Club will meet up with Aston Martin, Ferrari, and TVR clubs for an informal get together, drinks and a bite to eat (BBQ -£5 per head) during the afternoon.

Whilst not a concours event per se, you can bet some of us (Edward, Roger etc) will be getting the cotton wool buds out, and donning the rubber gloves as we speak in anticipation.) - Seriously, just turning up in your car will do fine. Let' s just chat, enjoy the weather and company.

At the bottom of the pub, is a very large grassed area, where the cars can park - what a relief from the navigation eh ? - and perhaps any children can play providing our ultra-reliable weather does it' s bit.

So, look forward to seeing you if at all possible, and if you' re reading this from out of region, don' t worry. Region 10 has no borders so you won' t be asked for your Passport @ the entrance.

IMPORTANT We are going to need numbers in advance to plan the BBQ so please e-mail M.R.Pink@tesco.net to confirm attendance or drop a note on this board.

Rgds and thanks.

I have a friend who has recently sold his boxster and who I actually purchased my first 911 from some 18 years ago! I am desperate to get him back into the Porsche fold preferably with a 32 Carerra. (Mainly so I can rob bits from him when mine wont go [:D])

I mentioned the meeting with the other clubs and he seemed interested. Is it acceptable to bring non member guests to a meeting like this?

Myself and partner and son should be attending anyway.

Cheers

Andy

Despite some rather freakish weather during the afternoon, the event went as well as I could have expected. I estimate that there were between 65 and 75 cars there during the day and well over 150 people. Thank you to everyone who turned up - I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did (though I did spend an inordinate amount of time running around to see that all our visitors were okay).

A special thanks to all those who helped with such mundane things as putting up the gazebo (and catching it after the wind took it down for us!), putting up the banners and handing out the voting forms.

I think we put on a terrific show for the other car clubs and the public - I would like to do it again next year, only even bigger!

If anyone has some good photo' s of the event can they either (1) publish them on the forum; (2) send a (small file size version) to me at R10@porscheclubgb.com; or (3) e.mail me to arrange delivery/collection of the photos if printed.

Hope to see as many of you as possible at the Emberton Park meeting on 13 July.

Mike - many thanks for the organisation that went into this event and despite the niggles with the weather, the turn out was excellent and the line of Porsche' s looked great.

Who won the prettiest car ? - my vote was for that silver Aston..

Again, thanks

Steve and Michele

For those of you who are interested in such things, the " informal" competiition for best car of the day was won by the silver Aston Martin DB6 Mark 2. Having polled some 25% of the entire votes cast (a Ferrari 360 was second), the owners won a bottle of Champagne. The car recently achieved second place in its class at the annual AMOC Concours event.

Thanks again to all those who took the time to vote.

A great event!!! Can we do it all again when my Spyder is repaired? I took a couple of snaps, but they are 14Meg pictures (publishable quality) and therefore aren' t ideal for e-mail. But I' ll happily burn them to CD and post them to whoever needs to use them for publication. Let me know - 550spyder@porschedriver.co.uk

Got the CD - thanks--some of the file formats not supported by my humble PC so it' s off to the printers to get them printed.

THANKS

ClubSport 911 / Steve,

Have you had chance to sort through the pics I sent you yet?
Have you printed any out?
What do you think to them then?

Mark.
