All R10 members are invited to enter our relaxed Show & Shine this 12 August 2017, which replaces our usual monthly meet at Sharnbrook.

This year’s Region 10 Show & Shine will be held at Dove House Motor Company, who many of you in our region already know as an independent car dealership specialising particularly in Porsche, and other prestige sports car marques including Ferrari and Aston Martin. We have a special connection with them as they have sponsored and supported our monthly meetings for some time.

The R10 Show & Shine will predominantly be a gathering of regional members’ Porsches, where they can enjoy ‘pride of ownership’ in a friendly display and vote for what they consider to the best of each others’ cars in each of the following three categories:

‘Early’ Water Cooled (924, 944, 968, 928 etc)

Air Cooled (356, all 911 derivatives up to and including 993, 914, etc)

‘Late’ Water Cooled (Boxster, Cayman, etc and all 911 derivatives from 996 up to present)

It’s worth noting that if there is an over number of Porsche in one of these categories (e.g, especially Late water-cooled, which seems to form a majority nowadays), then we may have to re-jig the set up of these, to avoid a ‘fait accompli’ result. In the end, it’s all for enjoying a good day with everyone, with no egos involved [;)]

There will be an individual prize (TBC) for 1st placing in each of the categories, decided by peer voting of all members present, including professional opinions of the Dove House team.

The Martin O’Kane award* for the Overall Winner will also be presented to the owner of the Porsche which attains the highest number of votes overall, together with an individual prize (TBC) - the award will then be engraved with the winner’s name and car type and held by the Club to record the proud winner’s provenance.
*in memory of the late R10 member Martin O’Kane, who took great pleasure preparing his lovely 964 Cabriolet to win past events such as this

I’m personally hoping to see many loyal R10 members attending, together with even more of the recently joined members who are very welcome.

Approximate timing is: arrival from 9am onwards, your voting can take place anytime onwards (TBC), with the presentations being made at around 2.30 - 3.00pm.

The main thing is that we will have a good time enjoying our Porsches - I stress that this is not a ‘Concours’ event, but one for Porsche of all ages and conditions. Please don’t be put off if you consider your car to less than perfect - if you drive your car and get pleasure from it, then that’s what they were made for - so come along and have a go with your pride and joy! All Porsche are welcome and I look forward to seeing you all there, even if you decide not to enter the competition part. Refreshment will very kindly be provided by Dove House throughout the event.

To register your interest to attend... it is ESSENTIAL that you email me ONLY on r10@porscheclubgb.com with your name, membership number and car you are attending in, so that I can put you on the attendance list. Please do not just turn up without informing anyone on the day, as you will surely appreciate there will have to be some organisation to cater for everyone.

The address for Dove House is:
Dove House Motor Company, Crown Way, Rushden, Northamptonshire NN10 6BS

Any questions, contact via R10 email - I look forward to receiving your entries very soon [8D][:D]

Hi to you all,

Thanks very much for making it such a great time for me and my son Sam.
It was great to talk to so many of you and thanks for all the tips and advice.
Please can any of you recommend a Porsche specialist in Milton Keynes for servicing and body work for that scratch on my front bumper?
Thanks, looking forward to seeing you all again.

Max and Sam
