Mark Grimwood has very kindly put together a proposition for us all in R10 to enjoy...
Join R10 and others across the UK with over 500 Porsches on the Prom parked Le Mans style at Llandudno on the Sunday, the Saturday Anglesey track day and our own spectacular Snowdonia and Anglesey drives.
Let’s make it a great social weekend by attending in force of numbers. As rooms are limited to 13 only, priority will be given to confirmed bookings only on a first-come, first-served basis. Please read and then reply promptly to this thread…. for those attending this Saturday’s (10 Feb) R10 meeting, you can also express your views before the arrangements are cast in stone!
We are already rather too close to be certain that we can all be accommodated in the PCGB reserved hotel in Llandudno, IF IN PRINCIPLE YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE PARTY, please as soon as possible indicate your attendance and add your hotel preferences on the basis of the following background information:
Track day viewing – Saturday 19th May - Ty Croes Racing Circuit on Anglesey (45 mins from Llandudno)
This is already fully booked; PCGB is taking names for the reserve list. Spectators are however able to attend and watch the action! The track is less busy from mid-afternoon.
Saturday Drive round Anglesey for non-track day drivers
R10 Saturday will comprise a leisurely drive around the picturesque island, taking in beauty spots, spectacular Blue Flag beaches, local landmarks, with walks, and photo/refreshments stops.
Porsches on the Prom – Llandudno – Sunday 20th May from 10.00am until lunchtime
R10 will arrive in convoy and park together to simply enjoy the experience! After the show you can explore the area further, leave for home, or drive your Porsche round the town’s famous Great Orme headland.
Hotel – Friday and Saturday 18th and 19th May
PCGB has reserved St. George’s Hotel, Llandudno but it is filling quickly and we may not all get in. The weekend package includes a 3-course dinner, but just the following choices remain, as at 8th Feb:
• Five standard doubles @ £390.00;
• Five town facing doubles @ £410.00;
• Three singles @ £260.00.
On the assumption that St George’s will not be able to take all of R10 members, the proposed R10 hotel will be the Bull Inn in Beaumaris, Anglesey, better placed for the track and Saturday drive. Current availability:
• Main Hotel One standard double room @ £235.00;
One small single room @ £225.00.
• Townhouse Six standard doubles @ £275.00
Five larger doubles @ £295.00
One suite at £345.00.
Prices are lower than St. George’s, but the rates are bed and breakfast only.
Independent travellers who might come for only part of the weekend or have other arrangements will still be able to join in all the R10 activities if you are available.
Free secure parking is available at St George’s, Llandudno, but not at the Bull (£4 per day).
Friday and Saturday Nights’ Dining for R10 Bull residents will be at two different Anglesey Restaurants.
Friday Drive to Anglesey – early starters can meet for lunch in Corwen for a picturesque drive through Snowdonia National Park. Convoy meeting points and times for early and not so early starters will be arranged.
If you want to come tell us sooner rather than later! []
