January 2008
The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month.
Situated on Hadley Heath, near Ombersley. Post Code is WR9 0AR. This is a well- known country establishment, with a large, good car park and within easy reach and is usually well attended.
The Royal Oak, Much Marcle. Instead of The Trumpet
For the time being, we shall meet here until further notice, on the Third Monday, at around 8pm.
------------
January saw our annual lunch at the Hundred House, Great Witley. Not such a large attendance as I expected. Some I know were on holiday and I suspect, Saturday was not the best choice. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed the event, which although due to start at 1pm, we did not leave until around 4pm. I took my camera and forgot to take some pictures !
With regard to the Royal Oak, we thought the third Monday was the second Monday and there was no-one there. Then we went on the real third Monday and there were people there. Peter Kirton went on the fourth Monday and rang me up, thinking it was the third Monday and there was no-one there ! Such are after Christmas blues !
A small "January" contingent met at the Hadley Bowling Green on the last Tuesday, including new member Phil Sloper. We all enjoyed a quiet pint and a chat.
Please Note
Clay Pigeon Shooting. This has now been changed to Sunday 16th March. We must start shooting at 10am, so you need to be there by 9.30am at the latest for briefing and to calm down after your fast Porsche drive. Actually, if your car is a low profile one, come in something else as the approach drive is awful. There will be a buffet as usual and the cost this year will be £18 for 25 clays and the buffet.
Afterwards, I have arranged an Air Rifle shoot for the ladies and those others, interested. This is a quiet affair and will not upset the locals and is a special concession to us by Dave Ryan, the owner.
I need to know numbers, for the buffet provisions, so contact me immediately.
Karting Is now changed to Friday 18th April. An evening session. There is no food, only drinks. It is often cold, so wrap up. With Aston Martin Owners Club as usual, a greatly enjoyed event and usually there are a few Jaguar Drivers Club members hanging on.
Places are limited to around 12 to each Club so get on my list as soon as possible. You will have to pre-book, with a cheque made out to "C.T.Snowdon", sent to me as soon AS POSSIBLE TO ENSURE YOUR PLACE.
