Region 13 Report for January 2012-02-01
Thirty two of us sat down to an excellent dinner at the Bell Inn, followed by a very tense skittles match. We managed two full rounds, ending with clear winners and runners up for gents and ladies.
Ladies, 1st Wendy Sloper; 2nd Caroline Dunster. (We suspect they had been practising somewhere !)
Gents, 1st Chris Sherwood ; 2nd Andrew Lloyd. Each received a trophy, related to their status and a PCGB small lapel badge.
Chris, did a sterling job, organising everybody, so thanks Chris. Mine host, Ian Davies, along with those in the kitchen worked very hard and was best of friends, all the time.
Our next meeting, will be at the Chateau Impney on Tuesday the 28th February. I did advertise a talk on Morgan cars, anticipating our visit there. Unfortunately, Mike, who was going to visit us is suffering throat problems so there is some doubt about this. By popular assent, this may be changed to a talk on gliding, to help a better understanding should we pay another visit to a site and fly. Do come and join us, Starting at 7.30pm, we may have some interesting cars for you to see first. WARNING. sgmsportsltd.com, MY antivirus detects a danger, advise you do not contact
You will have seen in PP that our Main Event is happening at the Chateau Impney this year in August. This in our Region as you know. It would be great if we could put forward a strong list of helpers for say a four hour stretch on one of the days, including setting up. I understand, this will earn you a free pass. Please contact we with your offers.
The facilities at the Chateau, are abundant. If you come to the AGM in April, you will get an opportunity to view the sites.
Bookings for Morgan and Prodrive, are doing well "" some corrections to last report.
Morgan £10 per person, plus £10 if you wish to eat there. Cheque sent to me made out to PCGB and marked Morgan on the back.
Prodrive, £27 per person (No food). They have agreed that you pay on the day. I need your name to tell them to expect you. If you fail to turn up, that is between them and you. Saturday 17TH March.
Canoeing......I have had another request for this and we propose in September. I would appreciate notice of your interest. Perhaps a shorter run this time. No one has contacted me about this yet !
Herefordshire Aero Club, Shobdon. Once again, we have been invited to put on a display at their Open Day on Sunday the 24th June. This has always been a very popular family day out and I hope you will join us. I need to know as soon as possible, to ensure we retain our booking. This coincides with the Shobdon Village Flower Festival and the Aero Club will be putting on special buses to ferry people from the airfield to the village, so you need not move your cars, Ladies. Please note.
