The 2014 WOTY ~ A Classic "˜Spring' Tour for the Porsche Club :

I attach the details below of our planned 2014 WOTY. This has been sent out as a document link to all R21 members but is also listed here for people who are not on the existing R21 mailing list.
The information below has been provided by Alan Goddard who is helping us organise the tour, which he presented at our November club night
I really hope you can come along and join in the fun next May on what will be a Classic Tour of Northern France exclusively for Porsche Club members.
The cost will be £965 per car with a "˜Crew' of two sharing a Double or Twin room "¦
This will be a Five days & Four nights tour in two really nice tried-and-tested Hotels, and will include the return ferry crossing Dover/Calais; two nights BB&D in a beautifully located country hotel near St Omer, & a further luxurious two nights in the heart of the Cote du Opale at a truly lovely establishment where Napoleon himself once resided. Here we will enjoy somewhat "˜different' dining arrangements, all planned for your pleasure. Needless to say, both hotels have exclusive & secure parking, and to find your way around our route you will receive a simple but detailed Road Book (no maps required) for each day throughout our Tour. I have arranged coffee stops and visits to places of interest throughout our predominantly country route so that we will not need to use either Toll roads or Auto-routes. And, of course, as always on my events, there may be a few little additional "˜surprises' to look forward too.
What is NOT included in the Entry Fee of £965 is accommodation & meals in Dover; any snacks, meals, drinks, etc. on the Ferries or at the Coffee stops which I have arranged for us en-route throughout our trip; or Dinner on the Sunday evening. Most Restaurants are normally "˜Closed' on both Sunday & Monday evenings in this part of France but for one night we will take a short walk into town for what I promise will be a noteworthy gastronomic experience, which will be approx. 30 euros per person; and on our last night, included in the Entry cost, we will have a sumptuous Gala Buffet in our Hotel.
I will book our Ferry Crossing quite early (well, for me!) on the Friday morning which means we will need to be gathered together, "˜Signed-On', and ready to leave the Premier Inn car park in Dover no later than 07.45am. This may prompt those of you travelling some distance to the Ferry Port to consider staying in Dover (as I will be!) on the Thursday night. I have "˜Reserved' some rooms for us and the cost of this option, including Dinner for two, is currently £119 per double or twin room at the Dover Central Premier Inn, a venue which has proved more than satisfactory for me many times. The excellent Restaurant on site will permit a relaxed start to our trip. I will make Dinner reservations to match our room bookings & we will also have an opportunity for an evening "˜Briefing! "" if you'd like to join me let me know on the Expression of Interest/Entry Form and I will firm up the arrangements for you.
Other info that I've not mentioned, and in no particular order:
"¢ The "˜Social' bits will have a "˜smart/causal' dress code throughout the five/six day trip "¦
"¢ There will be a Briefing and "˜Signing-On' session in the Premier Inn restaurant sometime during the Thursday evening for those that stay over; & another brief "˜breifing' (!) in the Premier Inn car park on Friday morning about 07.15am (to Sign On & collect Roadbooks etc "¦) for those that don't choose to stay in Dover.
"¢ I will provide each Crew with a five-day Road Book that will lead you throughout the Tour, from Dover on Friday morning & all the way back to Calais on the Tuesday evening, predominantly via different routes on each day.
"¢ "¦ And we'll be in good time to catch the 17.15hrs ferry back to Kent on Tuesday afternoon "" eta in the UK approx.17.45 local time. Farewells & Goodbyes will be on the boat and once back in Dover we'll all make our own way home, hopefully exhausted but ecstatic!
"¢ All confirmed Entries will be e-mailed up-date Bulletins & Final Details on the run-up to the Event.
"¢ Special loading arrangements have been made with P&O to get cars with low spoilers onto the Ferry, for those of you that might need that consideration! ! ! (please let me know if that's you!)
Once you have thought all this through, all you have to do now is fill out the Official Entry Form below detailing the car / passenger information, & the "˜Medical details' form which I would like you to complete & hand to me in a sealed / labelled envelope at "˜Signing-On' in Dover next May, but send the Entry Form back to me with your £100 Deposit cheque as soon as possible please.
Entries will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis I would appreciate a completed Official Entry Form(s) from all potential Crews please, including a UK "˜In-case-of-an-Emergency' contact, not someone who'll be travelling with you!
NB. All information provided, Medical or otherwise, is only seen, held & ultimately destroyed, by me !.
