This is a brief update to remind everyone that our April Monthly meeting will be next Tuesday 1st April at our normal venue the The Black Horse, The Vale, Chesham, HP5 3NS, which is on the same road out of Chesham about 1.5 miles from our old venue. Details of the pub can be found at http://www.black-horse-inn.co.uk/

People normally arrive around 7pm and the pub serves food for those that want to eat. The menus can be found on their website. Our presentations and talks normally start around 8pm and are informal with plenty of time for questions.

For our April evening we have a talk from Steve Kevlin who runs the Porsche Club Championship, the Porsche Club Speed Championship and our club track days, so if you are interested in finding out more about these race series or attending track days please join us.

R21 WOTY in May

Just to remind you that our weekend away this year will be based in north Wales at the Royal Oak Hotel, Betws""y-Coed http://hotel-snowdonia.co.uk/ with overnight accommodation on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th May. The hotel gets very good reviews on Trip Advisor and has also been recommended to us by local PCGB members and other members who know the area well. There will be reserved parking for Porsche cars.

The plan is to meet for drinks and dinner on the Friday evening and after a Welsh breakfast on Saturday you will be free to explore the area. There are some great driving roads nearby "" Llanberis Pass, Nant Francon Pass, Aber Glaslyn Pass and the famous Evo Triangle. We will provide some maps to help you find the best routes. Alternatively there are the north Wales tourist attractions "" Caernarfon Castle, Conwy Castle and the coastal resorts such as Llandudno etc - within an easy driving distance. We will meet up again for drinks and dinner on Saturday evening.

The following special rates per room, based on Dinner Bed and Breakfast, are:
£140.00 per Standard double/twin per night (4 available)
£175.00 per Superior double/twin per night (8 available)
£205.00 per Deluxe double per night (6 available)

The cost for the weekend for two people will therefore vary from £280 to £410 depending upon which room you book.
The rooms are available on a first come first served basis so please book direct with the hotel as soon as possible quoting the "Porsche Club weekend". The Royal Oak telephone number is 01690 710219, a £50.00 deposit will be required per room and their website is http://hotel-snowdonia.co.uk/ which has more information on the location and facilities.

Other Events in or close to our region - These are events we often get information about or invited to that may be of interest:

The 20th Chiltern Hills Vintage car rally will take place on a new site to the North of Aylesbury on Sunday 18th May - Location is Weedon Park, Weedon Hill, HP22 4NN.

Royal International Air Tattoo Fairford 2014 11th to 13th July

The club has attended this in previous years and this year the offer is better than last year in that the arrival time is now more civilised and a special viewing enclosure has been created just for sports car clubs; the cost is higher than last year's but still represents excellent value, and is heavily discounted against the public offering especially if you agree to display your car during the day.

The Air Display is one of the best you will see anywhere in the world and the event as a whole is a tremendous exhibition of aerial skill and technology. Altogether it is a fascinating and absorbing day or weekend for the enthusiast and their family.
