R21 Concours 14th July at OPC Hatfield

The July Club Night will be our Concours evening on the second Tuesday of the month (14th July) at Porsche Centre Hatfield. The evening will commence from 6.30pm onwards and all members cars are automatically entered, no pre booking is required.

Details of the judging classifications/classes that will be used will be advised in the near future.

Porsche Hatfield have kindly agreed to provide refreshments so please come along and enjoy their hospitality and support the evening.

For the avoidance of doubt there will be no meeting on the first Tuesday of July.
 
It has now been confirmed that the PCGB Porsche 356 will be on display at the R21 Concours evening. If you are interested in having a short drive in the car please let me know in advance at r21@porscheclubgb.com and subject to age/licence restrictions it will hopefully be possible.
 
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the R21 Concours evening at Porsche Centre Hatfield on Tuesday 14th July.

There is no entry fee or advanced booking, just turn up in a Porsche and enter our Concours is open to entries from all regions. This year we will be having the four categories based on age of the Porsche as follows:- 1. The Oldies Pre 31/12/1989 2. The Nineties 1/1/1990 to 31/12/1999 3. The Noughties 1/1/2000 to 31/12/2009 4. The Newbies Post 1/1/2010 In addition we have the Best in show for the coveted annual Porsche Hatfield Trophy.



New for this year is also an award for Members’ choice – this is where members participate by selecting their choice – be it most desirable best prepared, car you would like to go home in etc. Our Concours is more a show-n-shine, because we do not look at Engine compartments, luggage compartments, underside or interior. The main reason being we need to keep it simple as we would normally have up to 80+ cars to judge within a 1½ hour window The marking system is based on 30% for the bodywork, 25% for the wheels and wheel areas, 15% for the windows, 6% for PCGB region and register badges, 4% for displaying service book and 20% at judges discretionary for originality. The event timing is as follows:- 6.30 to 7.30pm CARS SHOULD START ARRIVING. 7.00 to 8.30pm JUDGING TAKING PLACE 8.00pm LAST ENTRY TO CONCOURS ACCEPTED 9.00pm CONCOURS RESULTS & AWARDS 9.30pm RAFFLE DRAW IN AID OF HERTS AIR AMBULANCE 10.00pm EVENT CLOSURE - LEAVE QUIETLY PLEASE OPC Hatfield will be providing hot food and will be displaying some interesting Porsches in the showroom in addition to the clubs 356 on display. There will be a raffle in aid of Herts. Air Ambulance.
