Our December Monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 3rd December at the Porsche Centre Hatfield where we will be having our Xmas buffet in partnership with the Centre who have offered to host this evening with us. Please plan to arrive earlier than normal as we would like to start this at 7pm and end around 9pm. Porsche Hatfield will have their Project Car on display which should be complete, and also hope to have the Reading and and West London project cars on display, and if available a 991 GT3 and 991Turbo

New Year Dinner January 11 2014

The Chiltern Region R21 New Year Dinner 2014 will be held at The Noke Hotel. We still have a few places available and need a few more people to ensure we meet our minimum numbers so if you would like to join us please book your place in the next few weeks as we need to finalise numbers before Xmas, when we have to pay the balance to the hotel. All the booking details including the code for getting discounted rooms can also be found on our R21 forum page.

2014 WOTY Update - May 9th to 13th - A Meander through the Cote d'Opale & Pas-de-Calais.

After our successful WOTY in Symonds Yat this year we have planned a different weekend for next year. At our November club night Alan Goddard who has organised many tours for the CSMA club, came along to go over a proposal to help organise a tour with us to France in Spring next year. This had already been discussed by the committee as part of our events planning for 2014 and we agreed it sounded like a great weekend that would enable us to benefit from Alan's significant knowledge of organising similar trips, at a very reasonable price. After Alan had provided an overview of the trip we had 12 people sign up expressing interest on the night so we have taken the decision to go ahead now.

Although 2014 sounds a long way off to put together this trip and ensure we get good prices we need to confirm and book by mid January.

All the information including an Official Entry form can be found on the posting on this forum. We need everyone to complete and send their entry to Alan with a £100 deposit per car in the next 2 weeks to secure a place, as we have already reserved ferries and hotels for this trip. The balance will then be due before the closing date on January 8th 2014. We are limited to 25 places maximum and they will be allocated on a first come, first serve, basis.

We are really looking forward to this being a great trip with some excellent driving roads and routes and interesting places to visit combined with good hotels etc, so we hope you will join us.

The information in Alan's document should provide all the details you need but if you have any further questions please email r21@porscheclubgb.com

R21 Club night Venue - NEW VENUE FOR JANUARY

As some of you know we found out on the afternoon of our last club night that our normal venue had ceased trading. In order to try and host the evening close by we met at The Black Horse, The Vale, Chesham, HP5 3NS, which is on the same road out of Chesham about 1.5 miles from our old venue. Details of the pub can be found at www.black-horse-inn.co.uk/#!findus/csxp
The pub were very helpful and welcomed us, and they have similar facilities to our previous location. For this reason we have decided to meet here again in January and at the same time explore other possible longer term locations.

2014 Events

Finally, in our recent committee meeting we started to plan events and club nights for next year. The initial list is:
January 11 - New Year Dinner
April 12th - Visit to DeHavilland museum - Jason organising
May 9th to 13th - WOTY France

Club Nights
December 3rd - Xmas Buffet at Porsche Centre Hatfield
January 7th - Social evening at the Black Horse
February 4th - Talk from Paul Mace GT Marques on their successful 2013 - winning the UK Porsche Carrera cup series
March 4th - Presentation by Lycian events

However, we are always happy to hear about your ideas for activities and events to support, so please let us know if there's anything you'd like to suggest. If any of you would like to actively participate in our committee and help our region organisation you would also be very welcome so please contact any of the committee if you have ideas, or this is of interest to you.

As well as sending better looking emails, we've now set up an R21 Twitter feed to keep you informed of events and activities as well as encourage other local Porsche owners to join up. I hope you'll follow us..

Finally as another year passes quickly we wish everyone seasons greetings and a prosperous 2014 where we look forward to seeing you at our club nights and events.

To the R21 Committee, thanks for organising the Hatfield Porsche Centre based Club night on Tuesday 3rd December.
The parking was good, the venue excellent, the food and drink most welcome, tasty and enjoyable.
And, we got to see some members that don't often appear at Club nights, a successful evening although a bit short.
Here's to the next time.

Robin, Thanks for the feedback. Times were dictated by Hatfield as I think they wanted the cars to leave reasonably early.
Chris

Jim

I will be there from about 7.00 onwards but most people arrive from about 7.30. Hope to see you there.
