This year the R21 Drive and Lunch will commence at approximately 11.00am from the Bourne End services on the A41, near Hemel Hempstead, and finish at Claydon House, a National Trust property. The route, which is just under 50 miles, will embrace an interesting variety of open and flowing country roads. The two course lunch will be in the Carriage House Restaurant at Claydon at a cost of £20.50 per person including service charge. It is not necessary to gain admission to the National Trust property to be able to access the restaurant. The lunch options are:
"¢ Free Range Chicken Breast stuffed with Preserved Lemon Slices, wrapped in Parma Ham
with a Watercress and Cream Sauce and Parmentier Potatoes with fresh seasonal vegetables
or
"¢ The Carriage House Vegetable Wellington with a Confit of Onions, White Butter Sauce and Parmentier Potatoes with fresh seasonal vegetables

"¢ White and Dark Chocolate Cheesecake with anEspresso and Coffee Syrup
or
"¢ Caramelised Lemon Tart with a Raspberry Coulis

£18.50 per person (£20.50 with service charge)

After lunch it will be possible to visit Claydon House (home at some time to Florence Nightingale) at a cost of £7, but free for NT members. There is also a small church and gardens to explore which do not require NT admission.
Places are limited to 12 cars so if you wish to attend please e-mail me with your details as soon as possible.

Hi Terry

Did you get our e mail 16th April to join you on drive out and are we on the list?

No, I have not received your e-mail but we have a couple of places left so there is no problem to add you to the list. Please drop me another e-mail to terjperry@aol.com so that I can pick up your e-mail address and I will contact you.

Paul

Assuming the restaurant can add an extra place or two, which I assume they will be able to do, it would be good to have you along.

Give me a call on 07748 555333 and we can sort it out.

It was a very enjoyable day, Terry. Great mixture of people and cars, and a superb setting for lunch.
