R5 - Local Tech Guru

I'd like to start by thanking Hartech for very honestly declaring their relative lack of experience with the Cayenne meant they couldn't help without lengthy and costly diagnosis work.

My wife has a Cayenne S which, obviously weeks after the extended warranty has expired has developed a series of electrical gliches which I can only assume are loosely connected (no pun intended but I suspect a bad earth!?).

Problems are affecting the onboard computer (flickering - though only visible when looking at main menu); Radio (PCM) intermittently non-functioning; Fuel gauge showing empty (I know they're thristy but even whilst still at the pump!) and air con stalls before starting.

Is there anyone in the North West (south manchester/ cheshire) area that could be recommended?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Specialists that might be able to help with a cayenne are sportsandclassic in Knutsford (see topic about September club night for contact details), Ninemeister in Warrington and JMH automotive in Holmes Chapel. However, my gut feeling is that cayennes are probably still best looked at a by a Porsche Centre.

some cayenne's have had problems with under bonnet wiring on the n/s....

do you know if its had brake pressure switch lately

can't give you anymore advice on cayenne but had to agree on Hartech. Put mine in there because thought rear brakes needed replacement. Got car back from Hartech who said they were fine for now, no need to do anything yet, checked out a couple of other things with no charge. Anyone know an OPC that would do that??? They are also good to deal with and good value for money. They will be getting my business again!

Thanks for the responses. I know it hasn't had any work done on the brakes recently and had been relatively trouble free until now. OPC Chester were very good in the past and changed all of the parking sensors/ controllers outside of warranty. As previous posts though, something must have changed recently because we had a panto-conversation (oh no you didn't; oh yes I did...) about the faulty aircon and they now only do pick up or delivery in a single day i.e. if you want it collecting, you get it back the next day!

Hartech will be my first port of call for anything porsche from now on.
