Here are just a few of the many photos taken on our trip to Le Mans this weekend. If you haven't done it before then we can thoroughly recommend the Lycian Events site which was brilliantly run.
The race was very exciting with plenty of ups and downs, especially after the brief rain on Saturday afternoon. With just two hours to go, Porsche No. 20 was in the lead but with the Audi closing fast. Sadly it all went wrong not much later with both cars out. So near yet so far.
We stopped at a great little place for lunch on the way down, no menu so we all had steak and fries. Jolly tasty too! We pulled up behind another group of brits.
The Lycian events camp.
Avenue of Porsches.
This little gem was on show in the camp, Dave Dennet was more than happy to talk to people.
Friday morning pit walk
Aston garage.
Nissan No. 0 - managed 300 km/h on electric power but sadly only lasted a couple of laps, not sure if it managed electric lap.
Came across Santa, Rudolf and the Elves in the pit lane, it was very hot for wearing that onsie
Mad dogs and Englishmen, British bobby with cycle cones, some with orange flashing lights. It must have been in the high 30s at this point.
R7's Guy Riall in the Carrera Cup race.
Before the race started the classics came out for a lap, sadly didn't realise until too late so missed the 550 Spyder, 917, 936, 911 Turbo RSR and GT1. Did get the 904 and Rothmans through driven by Derek Bell.
The Dutch came prepared for cold nights! Kept them warm whilst they sat outside watching their 50" flat screen tele!
Saturday evening the R7 group went into Le Mans for dinner.
Stuck our heads around the corner from dinner, and found this amazing cathedral.
There was this great memorial to the Le Mans drivers, with drivers foot and hand prints inlayed and on the floor around it.
Although we didn't win, 2 hours short, No. 14 did make it out again for the last lap, well done boys.
