Is anyone planning to attend this event? If so, it would be nice to have a Yorkshire 'convoy' on the way there!
Weather - and rugby fixtures - permitting I plan to go - I live over towards the East Coast, York is about 35 miles West, and I would be happy to meet some of you on route if it's not too far out of my way.

Doug

Hi Doug - yes I'm interested - live in Shipley so York is a good meetup spot. But what is the event? And where?

Just read a recent post on the North East forum saying that all but two of the traders lined up have pulled out, so I'm not sure what sort of event it will be - it's a long way up there if there isn't much going on!! In light of this info what's the general feeling about making the trip?

Doug

I sure that there will still be plenty of the important things (Porsche's) to ogle at, and a nice day out. Doesn't really change anything! They need our support.

Its nice to have your support chaps. It is two traders that have pulled out but we still have a few others plus John Hawkins and his team, the bird display and hopefully loads of stuttgarts finest [:D]

Look forward to seeing you all

Thanks

NE guys are always really supportive on joint events so I hope to get up to Raby Castle but it may depend on weather and work issues.

That's great, it sounds like most of us are still planning the trip. I will try to make the September club night, but if not I will pick up the arrangements from the forum prior to the event.
All that remains now is to pray for good weather!!

Sorry will be away on holiday, hope you have a good time up there. Please post some pictures so I can see what we missed.

Regards
John

Hoping to attend Raby Castle. If we are meeting in York where and what time?

I'm expecting to go, but live near Boroughbridge, so rather than meet near York why not at the new service area just north of the roadworks on the A1(m) at Wetherby? They're on the York side on the motorway. Marks & S have a shop there, if food is needed.

It looks about 1.5 hours from there, up to Scotch Corner then next left. What about 10.30 departure?

That sounds OK to me - can we rustle up any more 'Yorkshire drivers'?!?
Against the odds, the weather for Sunday is looking good too!

Hope to meet lots of you there.

Doug

Weather permitting I will be there - can you access these services from N bound carriageway? Haven't used A1 for some time and tend to go up M6 for any Scottish/Lake District jaunts.

Andrew W.

Cant say that I know services with M& S. Are they on Southbound side?
Hope to be there on Sunday if weather OK.

May be a good idea to give mobile numbers out so we can be in touch to aid meeting up.

Cheers,

I've never used these services either - I think that they have literally just opened as details are not even on the Moto website!! I have been able to find out that they are at J46 near Kirk Deighton but that's about it - probably best to join the A1 at Wetherby and head North!
My mobile number is 07800 696338.

See you there!

Doug

Can't say I know them either. My mobile is 07866 766985. Weather sounds OK. We will be in a red C4 cab. Look forward to meeting up at 10:30!

Brand new services and as stated above they don't appear on the Moto map as yet.

Have checked with them this morning ( though level of cust. service left a little to be desired )and they are apparently accessible from both N and S. bound carriage ways - equally both N and S. carriageways can be accessed from services ( as you would expect ).

It was confirmed that they are signposted from J46 on A1.

Hope this is all correct - see you for1030 departure - weather permitting - 07738 564856.
