RABY CASTLE FEEDBACK....

Hi folks, what an excellent turn out it was yesterday, I feel rather proud of our region and of those regions around us for their support. I would appreciate any comments on the weekend and if anyone feels we could have done somethings differently then let me know, thanks again for your support.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first PCGB event. The only disappointment (other than the weather!!!) was less trade stands etc than I expected. Even the PCGB stand seemed a little sparse regarding both goods and perhaps more importantly info on PCGB servicees etc - Or would they have been preaching to the converted?? Handy for new/potential members though.

A small carp - but a very enjoyable day. Thank you to all the organisers!!

Yes it was, Nick has become a bit of poseur [;)][:D]

Great show Nick, all the DDK enjoyed it as did my Parents who brought along my family & one of my nephew's. Only complaint was i didn't have enough time to look around all the cars [:D] , I must learn to stop talking so much [;)]

really enjoyed showing my cars and the display of the older models put on by DDK was superb.[8D]

this show is a must for next year.. please could we have some catering and extra loos as the ones available were a long LONG way away and overly busy which ment i got nothing to eat all day as i had a stand to host and 3 cars to show, i was staying in a hotel over night so i wasn;t able to bring my own food [:-]

Hi Nick,

Yesterday was my first Porsche gathering. Really enjoyed it. Great to see so many different Porsche models turn up. Also noticed a nice Ferrari 355 there and a DB7 lurking around the grounds. Great surrounding aswell.

Only thing I'd suggest would be possibly more stands. Specialist Cars stand covered most things, but it's just nice to have a good walk around. Thought the two stands with all the Paintings etc were great, unfortunatly they'd sold ouit of there Boxster paintings.

Look forward to next time[:)]

Hi Nick,
The girls and I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the turnout of Porsches was much larger than I'd imagined. Jade and Brogan have plenty to tell their friends especially about the bird display.

Not sure what else you could have laid on but thinking aloud:-
1) Some sort of car healthcheck provided by Malton and/or buyers guide (what to look for) for popular models.
2) An 'ask the expert' area where someone (could be Malton again) attempts to field technical questions.
3) I've read about our American cousins having a portable dyno at a similar sort of club meeting. This could be for fun or as part of a competition. There'd obviously be cost/safety implications but the sound would be fantastic!
4) A tent with screen showing clips of Porsche racing past and present and/or information about models both past and present. This would be of general interest, whether a Porsche owner or not.

As it happens these are my two neighbours, four year old Keighly and four year old Sophie, they will be chuffed, thanks for that Helen.

Hi Nick - I've had three compliments on the zymol finish to my car today - can I volunteer in advance for next year ? - I'll be able to throw out my tin of turtle wax then !

Chris Bradley
Atlas grey metallic 04 Boxster S ( now much more attractive ! )

No problem Chris, I have booked you in already, just don't wash it until then. Did they do the whole car for you, I saw they had a strip of tape down the middle of the bonnet earlier in the day, hope it came off alright.
By the way Nick was excellent, can we book him for next year please.

Yes, they did the whole car - even cleaned the inside.
I'll try and bribe Nick with a few beers before mentioning next year to him - can we move the trader who complained about the volume to the other side of the field ?

Hi Chris
Nice to hear your car is clean again!!
Just wanted to let you know how much I (and probably everyone else there) appreciated that you and your son could come along to provide the music. It really helped to promote a lively atmosphere, and his singing and playing were of a high standard. The other bonus of course was the benefit of the PA system, without which we would have been struggling. Well done.
Regards
Alan Burton

Whilst we are pating people on the back it must be said alan that you gave 110% yesterday, your parking directions are now legendary and can be read in a new publication, 101 ways to park 200 Porsches in a field, well done sir you are a star, as was Neill with his work on the mic and the "friendly region" quotes, where did that come from????

Hi Nick
Thanks for the 'parking' compiments, and well done to you as well.
I would hope that we did come across as a 'friendly' region, however I'm sure that there was no intention to suggest that any other region would be less friendly. We have always been made to feel very welcome wherever we have been in the Porsche world, whether in 'convoy 'as a region, or visiting on an individual basis.
Alan

Oh yes I agree, I just wondered where Neill had got the idea from thats all. Lets hope we can build on it for next year, I know John Hawkins of Specialist cars was very pleased with how it went and wants to create a bigger, better show for next year, can't wait, think I have the organising bug now!!
